Casitas (A & B)

In 2005 the orphans of Mama Tara Orphanage were moved from an unsafe home which was built over the lagoon to a home further inland. The current orphanage is 2 cinderblock buildings neither of which have been completed.

To accomplish this, the Mama Tara Organization has hired a project manager by the name of Gustavo Lepe and his two co-workers, Adolfo and Enemecio. These men are very skilled in mason work, tiling, wiring, welding, and plastering. We are blessed to have been on numerous mission trips with Gustavo and know his love for the Lord and the children of the Mama Tara Orphanage. Gustavo, Adolfo, and Enemecio will stay in Puerto Lempira for the duration of the project making sure that the work is done correctly.

It will take 3 months to finish the casitas and around $60,000.

9/13/2008 6:49:43 PM - Update 1

Gustavo, Aldolfo, and Enemicia did an incredible job at the orphanage. Casita B looks beautiful on the inside as well as the outside (Check out the pictures!!!). From the plumbing to the tiling, everything was done with excellence and we are so thankful to Gustavo and his co-workers for the God honoring job they did for the children of Mama Tara Orphanage.

The bars look super, the mosquito screen is tough, the color looks good, the tile is beautiful. The beds are strong and very nice. There are doors on the toilet stalls. There is a place for a mirror in each restroom. There is a small sink and a larger one. There is a kitchenette with room for one of the freezers.

5/8/2010 12:00:00 AM - Update 2

Thanks to Gustavo Lepe and his friends Enemecio, Adolfo, and Oswaldo, the original dorm and dining area have been renovated. Walls were plastered and painted, and the floors were tiled, including the surrounding outside porch areas.

It’s beautiful! The dining area hasa been transformed into a classroom where Ebety Pasta, the hired tutor, teaches the children and helps oversee their homework.

This is wonderful news and we are truly grateful for the progress, however, we are still in need of $5,000 to pay off our debt on this project. We are thankful for all the support we have been given thus far, and God has done great and marvelous things to help us succeed in these projects.

Please be in prayer for us to come up with this money. The economy is taking it’s toll on this ministry and we need your help. If you have a desire to help us, please make your checks payable to Mama Tara Miskito Orphanage, Inc. and send to the following address:
