Supplying Running Water

We are currently working on a solution for giving the children safe drinking water, as well as supplying running water to the bathrooms.

The project will require a small water tank and building a plateform for the tank to sit on.

9/13/2008 7:12:10 PM - Update 1

This summer we managed to hoist a 5,000 gallon empty water tank onto the platform. We ran pipe up to the tank and connected all the pipes so that they were able to pump water into the tank and fill it up. They now have the ability to have running water in both buildings.

We are also working with Reach Out Ministries (You can visit their site from out site partners link.) to supply running water to the bathrooms. This project will require running a pipe 700 meters from the tank being offered free to Mama Tara to the small tank on the orphanage grounds.

A man from the water board of Puerto Lempira offered to connect the small water tower to Mama Tara’s for $3000. He waived the 150lemp a month fee. Gustavo would like to go in October or November to oversee that project.

Thanks to ROOM(Reach Out Orphanage Missions) Gustavo Lepe will begin a water project that will provide water and water pressure to Mama Tara.

The project wil begin on December 2nd and should be completed within two weeks. Be sure to check the website for updated pictures.
